My name is Margit Lanze. Born and raised in Germany, I have spent most of my adult life in the United States. I have always been interested in and intrigued by languages and cultures. I am fluent in German, French, and somewhat in English, and I have taught both French and German in public and private schools at the middle and high school level. I must admit I am a bit partial to teaching German to middle schoolers. There is nothing more energizing for me than to interact with this age group in my native tongue.

In addition to loving languages, cultures, and middle school students, I have a passion for instructional technology. I love playing with technology, whileI recognizing the opportunities technology creates in the teaching field. Not only can my foreign language classroom come alive by connecting to real life situations and people in foreign countries, technology can also be a great tool to differentiate for struggling students.

The World Language Department at Cary Academy Middle School maintains a wiki which captures highlights of their teaching. Please visit us to be inspired or inspire us with an e-mail of your own highlights of success. We'd be thrilled to give you credit as we add it to our Wiki:
